The National Erasmus+ Office in Kazakhstan (NEO KZ) is pleased to announce that the Erasmus+ 2026 Call is officially open. All interested higher education institutions can now submit project proposals under the various programme actions.

On December 10, 2025, the National Erasmus+ Office in Kazakhstan (hereinafter – NEO KZ) hosted its annual Information Day of the Erasmus+ Programme in Astana, Kazakhstan.

On December 9, 2025 the National Erasmus+ Office in Kazakhstan (hereinafter – NEO KZ) hosted a Cluster Meeting on the impact of Erasmus+ projects on higher education in environment and natural resources management at Esil University in Astana, Kazakhstan.

On 21 November 2025, S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University hosted a seminar titled “Quality Culture in Higher Education”.

The National Erasmus+ Office in Kazakhstan (NEO KZ), together with the Higher Education Reform Experts (HERE) team and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, successfully hosted the online Technical Assistance Mission (TAM) Seminar on “University–Industry Partnership in the Context of Sustainable Development” on 10–11 November 2025.

Kazakhstan hosted the major event of the year – Forum of Strategic Partners “Kazakhstan – The Territory of Academic Knowledge” on 30-31 October, 2025

The National Erasmus+ Office in Kazakhstan, in cooperation with the Higher Education Reform Experts (HERE) team and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, successfully organized the Technical Assistance Mission (TAM) Seminar on “Mission and Values of Higher Education” on 15–16 October 2025

On October 1–3, 2025, Kazakhstan’s delegation actively participated in the SPHERE Annual Conference and Bologna Process Symposium, a key event that brought together higher education reform experts, policymakers, and international stakeholders to exchange insights on the future of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).

According to the results of the 2025 Call for Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) projects under the Erasmus+ programme, Kazakhstan is involved in 5 regional projects selected for funding and acts as a Grantholder (Coordinator) in one of them

On July 17, 2025, the Pre-Departure Orientation session for Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters (EMJM) students took place, with the participation of 43 scholarship holders and 11 non-scholarship holders, representatives of the European Union Delegation to Kazakhstan, and the Embassies of Germany, Spain, Italy, Austria, Portugal, and Belgium to Kazakhstan.

From June 16 to 27 2025 the 2nd International Summer School "Regional and Global Dimensions of EU Soft Power" was held in accordance with the implementation of the plan of the Jean Monnet EUROSOFT Center of Excellence project on Erasmus+

On June 12–13, 2025, the Technical Assistance Mission (TAM) Seminar titled “Development of Inclusive Higher Education” took place at Astana IT University.

On June 9, 2025, an online seminar on the development of joint educational programs was held. The seminar was organized by the National Office of Erasmus+ in Kazakhstan in collaboration with the Committee of Higher and Postgraduate Education of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the National Team of Higher Education Reform Experts (HERE).

On 2-3 June 2025, the Higher Education Reform Experts (HERE) team of Kazakhstan represented by Drs. Serik Omirbayev and Gulzhan Jarassova and NEO KZ Coordinator Laura Paluanova took part in the seminar on “The end of degrees? Micro-Credentials, skills, and employability” held in Rabat, Morocco.

On May 23, 2025, an information session on preparing Erasmus+ project proposals was held for the faculty of Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz with the participation of the Coordinator of the National Erasmus+ Office in Kazakhstan Laura Kalabayevna Paluanova and the Scientific Consultant-Chief Expert of the University Shaizada Umirzakovna Tasbulatova.
