On Мау 15, 2025 the National Erasmus+ Office in Kazakhstan successfully held the Seminar on the Bologna Process: Recognition of Qualifications at Nazarbayev University.

On Мау 15, 2025 the National Erasmus+ Office in Kazakhstan, in collaboration with the Higher Education Reform Experts (HERE) team and the Higher Education Development National Center of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, successfully held the Seminar on the Bologna Process: Recognition of Qualifications at Nazarbayev University. The event was attended by more than 100 representatives of higher education institutions.

Bringing together key stakeholders from Kazakhstan’s higher education system and leading European experts, the seminar focused on the pressing issue of recognition of qualifications, a cornerstone of the Bologna Process, which Kazakhstan has been actively participating in since 2010.

The event featured a high-level opening session with remarks from Kadisha Dairova, Vice President for Student Affairs and International Cooperation at Nazarbayev University and H.E. Aleska Simkic, Ambassador of the European Union to Kazakhstan. The seminar was moderated by Gulzhan Jarassova, Deputy Chair of the Committee for Higher and Postgraduate Education, Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and HERE member.

Key contributions included presentations by Luca Lantero, Director General of CIMEA and President of the Lisbon Recognition Convention, and Luca Ferranti, CIMEA’s Senior Credential Evaluator, who addressed the role of digital transformation in modernizing credential evaluation systems.

Participants also gained valuable insights into Kazakhstan’s national qualification system, with expert input from the Ministry of Healthcare, “Atameken” National Chamber of Entrepreneurs, and the Higher Education Development National Center.

The outcomes of the seminar include enhanced collaboration between Kazakh and European institutions, advancement in digital credential recognition tools, and the potential development of a more integrated national qualifications framework.
