NEO KZ and HERE KZ participation in the SPHERE seminar

On 2-3 June 2025, the Higher Education Reform Experts (HERE) team of Kazakhstan represented by Drs. Serik Omirbayev and Gulzhan Jarassova and NEO KZ Coordinator Laura Paluanova took part in the seminar on “The end of degrees? Micro-Credentials, skills, and employability” held in Rabat, Morocco.

The event brought together 50 HEREs and NEOs from South-Med countries, the Eastern Partnership, Central Asia and the Western Balkans, representing higher education institutional leadership, policy makers and student representative bodies.

During the seminar, Dr. S.Omirbayev and L.Paluanova presented Kazakhstan’s experience in the development, implementation and recognition of the Micro-credentials and shared insights from the TAM seminar on Micro-credentials held by the NEO Kazakhstan jointly with the NEO Kyrgyzstan in 2024.

The seminar was comprehensive and content-rich and helped participants develop ideas for further improvement of the topic in the country, especially the accreditation and recognition issues of Micro-credentials.
