According to the results of the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) Call 2026, Kazakhstan is represented in 6 projects selected for funding. Kazakhstani higher education institutions (HEIs) act as Coordinators (Grantholders) in 4 of these projects.

On 20 July 2026, a Pre-Departure Orientation Session for students selected for the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s (EMJM) 2026 programmes was held at the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Kazakhstan.

On 2 July 2026, the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University (KazNARU) officially opened the International Center for Inclusive Education, created within the framework of the Erasmus+ EduFusion Capacity Building in Higher Education project.

The III International Summer School "Global and Regional Dimensions of the Soft Power of the European Union" for 150 participants representing experts, the academic community of the countries of Central Asia and Europe (professors of universities, colleges, secondary schools, as well as young researchers (master's and doctoral students) has been continuing successfully.

On 21-22 May 2026, the Erasmus+ Regional Information Day and the Conference “Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Higher Education” were held in Astana at Seifullin University. The event was organized by the National Erasmus+ Office in Kazakhstan with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA).

Within the Science Month at Ahmet Yassawi University, a series of important scientific events was conducted. From April 27 to 30, 2026, a series of seminars aimed at enhancing the professional capacity of faculty members and young researchers was organized, along with an information and practical session dedicated to the Erasmus+ programme.

On 21–22 May 2026, the National Erasmus+ Office in Kazakhstan (NEO KZ), with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the European Education and Culture Executive Agency, is organizing the Erasmus+ Regional Information Day and the conference “Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education” at Seifullin University in Astana.

On 10-13 March 2026, the University of International Business named after Kenzhegali Sagadiyev hosted the International Week of Faculty Development as part of UIB International Week 2026, under the theme “Global Collaboration: Science, Innovation, and Cultural Exchange”.

On 9–10 March 2026, an online study visit was held within the framework of the SPHERE project titled “AI-Enabled Digital Transformation for Inclusive Universities: Policy, Practice and Impact.”

On February 23–25, the first seminar meeting of the working group within the framework of the international project “Greening Water Education for Sustainable Development in Central Asia” was held at the University of Niš in Serbia.

The “EUROSOFT” project is being implemented at the Faculty of International Relations of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University (ENU) from 2023 to 2026. The project aims to study the dissemination and influence of the European Union’s (EU) soft power in Central Asia.

On 19 February 2026, at the initiative of the National Center for Higher Education Development, an online infosession for universities was held on the topic “Opportunities for Kazakhstani HEIs under the Erasmus+ Programme,” conducted by the Coordinator of National Erasmus+ Office in Kazakhstan Laura Paluanova.

On February 16, 2026, the international Train-the-Trainer Capacity-Building Workshop — “Trainer Preparation” — officially began at D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University as part of the Erasmus+ EduFusion – Network for Sustainable Growth project.

On 26-27 January 2026, the annual meeting of National Erasmus+ Offices (NEOs), International Contact Points (ICPs), and Erasmus National Focal Points (ENFPs) was held in Brussels, bringing together representatives from 145 countries worldwide.
