NEO KZ conducted a series of online sessions on preparing competitive proposals for CBHE and Jean Monnet projects 2026

In January 2026, NEO KZ organized a series of online sessions for potential applicants of the CBHE and Jean Monnet projects. The aim of these sessions was to raise awareness of key aspects of preparing competitive project proposals and to provide practical guidance for successful proposal submission.

On January 13, 2026 an information session titled “How to write competitive proposals for CBHE projects 2026” was held. The session covered the following topics:

  • Key updates in the 2026 call: novelties in the call entry points, Global Gateway priorities, limits to the number of proposals submitted by a HEI as a Coordinator, etc.
  • Structure and content of the project proposal: analysis of the sections of the proposal form and explaining the objectives, tasks, expected results, methodology, and budget planning.
  • Preparing high-quality and competitive proposals: practical advice on project planning, common mistakes to avoid, and examples of successful project proposals.
  • Recommendations the project proposal submission procedure: step-by-step guidance on submitting proposals in FTP and provide links to templates and official guidelines.
  • Responses to participant questions: discussion of specific cases and recommendations to increase the chances of successful proposal evaluation.

The session was attended by 112 participants from 36 HEIs across the country.

On January 14, 2026 an information session on “How to write a competitive proposal for Jean Monnet 2026” took place. Participants were provided with a detailed overview of the goals and priorities of the Jean Monnet initiative, the structure of the project proposal, evaluation criteria, and key requirements for formatting and content. The session covered the following topics:

  • Goals and objectives of the Jean Monnet initiative:areas of support for academic projects and expected outcomes for educational institutions.
  • Evaluation criteria: analysis of each evaluation criteria and tips on how to address them in the proposal form.
  • Tips on preparing competitive project proposals: recommendations from the EACEA as well as experienced Jean Monnet projects’ coordinators of Kazakhstan with lifehacks and useful tips.
  • Helpful resources on NEO KZ website and google drive folder to look into before starting preparing the proposal form.

The session was attended by 90 participants from 34 universities across the country.
