On 14–15 September, Higher Education Reform Experts (HERE) from Kazakhstan took part in the SPHERE Seminar and SPHERE Bologna Process Symposium, held at the National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest in Romania.

Kazakhstan was represented by:

  • Alibek Madibekov, Director of the National Center for Higher Education Development
  • Banu Narbekova, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University
  • Rauza Mendaliyeva, Head of MGIMO Kazakhstan branch in Astana

The two-day programme brought together Higher Education Reform Experts (HEREs), National Erasmus+ Offices and international higher education specialists to discuss current priorities and developments in higher education.

The SPHERE Seminar focused on skills development, learning outcomes and competences, institutional approaches to learning and teaching, as well as digital and AI skills.

The Bologna Process Symposium addressed fundamental values of the European Higher Education Area, inclusion, equity and diversity, higher education reform and its implementation, and the relationship between the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and the European Education Area (EEA).

Participation in such international events provides an important platform for sharing national experiences, learning from European practices and strengthening cooperation in higher education reform.
