Erasmus+ CBHE 2025 Call results featuring Kazakhstan

According to the results of the 2025 Call for Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) projects under the Erasmus+ programme, Kazakhstan is involved in 5 regional projects selected for funding and acts as a Grantholder (Coordinator) in one of them:

  1. DIANA (Strand 1, Priority: Sustainable growth and jobs, Grantholder – Kazakhstan): Empowering Women through the Development and Implementation of Rural Tourism Entrepreneurship in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
  2. MECAS (Strand 2, Priority: Green deal, Grantholder – Uzbekistan): Development of Master curricula in EcoInformatics for the impact on the Aral Sea basin.
  3. Cyber4CA (Strand 2, Priority: Digital transformation, Grantholder – Uzbekistan): Development of Innovative Graduate Educational Programme in Cyber Security for Digital labor market of Central Asia.
  4. GreenCA (Strand 2, Priority: Green deal, Grantholder – Norway): Greening water education for sustainable development in Central Asia.
  5. EduCATIA (Strand 3, Priority: Digital transformation, Grantholder – Germany): Advanced Training in Artificial Intelligence Technologies for Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. The 2025 Call outcomes show 17 instances of participation of Kazakhstani higher education institutions across these projects. Notably, two newcomers have joined this year: Astana IT University and Kazakh Academy of Sports and Tourism. Besides, Sh.Ualikhanov Kokshetau University became a Grantholder for the first time in its history and coordinates DIANA project. The projects will be carried out in close cooperation with partner universities and non-academic organisations, thereby fostering stronger regional and international collaboration in the fields of higher education, research and innovation, as well as promoting sustainable development.
