Regional TAM seminar on "Micro-credentials"
On 4-5 April, 2024 a regional online Technical Assistance Mission (TAM) seminar on Micro-credentials was held with HERE experts and HEIs of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. The seminar was open for all higher education institutions and brought together Vice-rectors, Deans, faculty members and administrative staff members. In addition to universities, the range of participants also included representatives of the National Center for Higher Education Development, Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating and Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The total number of participants was 243 (Kazakhstan: 156; Kyrgyzstan: 87). Invited speakers of the event were Chiara Finocchietti, Director of CIMEA-NARIC Italia and Cristina Ghitulica, General Director of the Romanian Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education.
As a result of the event, participants gained first-hand and comprehensive information about Micro-credentials in the European context and received valuable information on developing and implementing them; the 2 countries exchanged their experience on the topic and learned much from each other as well and received new insights and became inspired with new ideas on how to develop and implement micro-credentials in their countries.
